Lets start with disappointment
As soon as I got my hands on Warhammer Underworlds Shadespire – I knew it was the game for me.
- Beautiful models? Check.
- Low model count? Check.
- Easy rules? Check.
- Hexes? Check.
- World-building? Check.
- Card drafting? Erm… not my thing but I’ll give it a go.
In my excitement, I went straight in to painting Steelhearts champions – finishing them to a level I was really happy with.
Then I ruined them with a crappy coat of GW varnish 🙁
Undeterred, I thought I could go over the top with a little paint to remove the horrid graininess, and then redetail the faces.
And these monstrosities are what you now see. All the nice detail and smoothness go in favour of cloudy bleakness.
One day I will get another set of just the minis and re-do them, but for now, warband 1 of gaming pieces – will have to do.
