TOYS

A friend of mine was having a clear out and asked if I’d like some star wars toys from the 80s. I said no thanks at first thinking the wife wouldn’t want more rubbish in the house. Then I thought hang on what if they have some vehicles. When I saw a B wing and Slave 1 I said yes please right away. The At St wont work bit I can play with that. The two ships should work for scale after I checked the shots from the film and compared it with my minis. I’ve not painted up a toy before so I’m not sure how to go about it so if any one has any techniques before I ruin them I’d be glad of it.

You need to sand the plastic surface (wear a dust mask!), then wash in warm soapy water, apply basecoat, then paint away. See if you can take it apart beforehand, most of those old toys are held by screws. That way you can save the clear parts and have an easier time sanding and painting. Have fun!
