The Otter limits of wargaming
Episode 2
As I mentioned in episode one I using a technique I found on facebook and here it is
BASE COAT = Slate Grey or I even just used a very light Grey – could use white.
BLACK WASH = 2 parts black ink (Vallejo) + 2 parts Glaze Medium (Vallejo) + 1 part water (Faucet).
WHITE DRY-BRUSH = (NOTE ON WHITE DRY-BRUSH: do only when dry of course. The Black Wash will dry a bit glossy so may be hard to tell. I let them sit overnight but a couple hours or so could work. Results may vary)
-Make sure almost ALL THE PAINT is off the brush before doing this part.
– Brush from the TOP OF THE MODEL, DOWN.
– You may have to do some light side-ways brushing, or if the brush is stiff enough – do some light dabbing.
PAINT WITH INK = I’m using Vallejo’s “Game Ink” from a set I bought on Amazon. I also have some from Liquitex, available at craft/art supply stores.
– Vallejo and Liquitex colors (not black) are transparent enough to let the pre-shading you did show through – creating instant contrast.
So I have the first stages done but have used vajello shade instead of ink wash recipe but I think it will give the same result
So here we go
Hopefully I haven’t made the wash too dark but we shall see
On a final note I bought a pair of these after seeing them on the 40k weekend and I have to say are absolutely brilliant
