Entry 5: Mistakes. I hate painting White
I broached on a mistake I mentioned I did in a previous post.
Picture 1:
The robes were basecoated with a bluey grey (GW’s The Fang base paint). From there I layered up (badly) with Administratum Grey (OOP but an equivalent to Ulthuan Grey or maybe Celestra Grey) and tried to work up by adding ceramite white. It was horrible.
***
In the end I used a mix of dawnstone and lahmia medium in two thin wash coats to take the edge off the white and provide crude shading and blending. I think it is the best I could do as salvage work without starting again from scratch.
I will update the highlights and layering tutorial on a future post, as it is a separate subject.
I like it. Well done!
It’s very much like an idea I’ve had for a paint scheme.
Your tutoring will come in handy. ??
Thanks! He has been finished a long time since and I really need to get back to updating this log. Once my Night Lords are done (well the Chaos half of Shadowspear, I want to expand the Night Lords) I will try completing these guys.
