Entry 2: Test Model

I had a spare model lying around which I tested out before the work on Entry 1. following the guide from Entry 1, I got up to the stage where Dawnstone was applied. At this point the model looked like bare plastic sprue and I was super disheartened. I could not even take a photo of it and post it up. Beside a plastic grey model without primer it looks almost identical.

After taking a break for a day or two and talking to a friend about it, as well as showing them the model, I continued on.

When applying the wash, I did not paint it into the recesses, but just applied it all over the model. As you can see from the first two pictures I was a little heavy with it, but in comparrison to what came before it really breathed life into the model. Not to mention the fact that it look like it had been through a few battles and dirty (how a Carcharodon should be).

I lefft the shoulder pads untouched, and when drybrshing the model in the first step I was sparing but did not ignore the Boltgun.I lefft the shoulder pads untouched, and when drybrshing the model in the first step I was sparing but did not ignore the Boltgun.
I found the black on the shoulders, knees and eyes made the model pop. The latter really makes them look more 'shark-like'.I found the black on the shoulders, knees and eyes made the model pop. The latter really makes them look more 'shark-like'.

Drybrushing the Bolter, but less so than the rest of the model at the basecoat stage saved me some time, as you can see.Drybrushing the Bolter, but less so than the rest of the model at the basecoat stage saved me some time, as you can see.
I think the test scheme looks good from different angles.I think the test scheme looks good from different angles.
