Entry 1: Basecoating Primaris Vanguard from Shadowspear
The Primaris Vanguard are beaituful models, though notably the Eliminators (Snipers) fit together awkwardly at the shoulders with gaps. Be vigilant, dry fit them, and be prepared to do a bit of work to get them smooth with either hobby tools or green stuff / liquid green stuff.
NOTE: I almost immediately deviated by not using Mechanicus Standard Grey to spray undercoat the model. I had Chaos Black on hand, did not want to spend the money on a primer for 19 or so models, and already had plenty of Mechanicus standard grey on hand. Doing a drybrush with a dark colour over a black primer also kind of does like a bulit-in shade, too.
The photographs are a little dark, but I started with a heavy drybrush of Mechanicus Standard Grey for my Carcharodons Space Marines. It was quick and fun. I am using this painting guide:

Full disclosure: I have deviated from this a little later on adding brighter colours to break up the monotony on purity seals and grenades. In addition I am unsure as to how I will presently do the cloaks.
The skin was done with the Warhammer TV Raven Guard skin guide, reflecting the Chapter’s background*:

*The same guide used on the skin of my Night Lords.
