Joan of Arc - Avoiding Burn Out
So this arrived...
So much to my wife’s chagrin the above arrived… “more board games?” Well yes and I can see her point (though have thus far not informed her that what she is seeing is only Wave 1).
Now I went all in and am feeling the hobby burn out just taking off the shrink wrap and checking content. I need a plan.
Your’re not alone in needing a plan.I received my Wave 1 yesterday and it is a daunting thing to go through.The mini’s are stunning and the Dragon is a beautiful thing to behold ( thankfully,i’ve read about some that had little to no texture on the wings ).A painting plan is going to be a slow process for me,uppermost in my mind is a storage plan for all the cardboard ( tokens and map hex’s,let alone the boxes themselves ) after they have seen some table time.All in all,we have a beautiful game to play and another large case of… Read more »
It is beautiful and the detail is stunning considering the size. My next post will be how I’ve broken the project down. I’m aiming for painting a scenario at a time and been inspired by Jerry’s tiny saga and painting up a tiny 15mm dragon rampant army at the same time.
I’m still waiting on my copy … and I still remember the ‘OMG what have I done’ feeling from their previous kickstarter.

I wonder if the new GW Contrast paints are going to help with this one.
Actually that’s exactly what I’ve done. Just got the full set on order from our friends at OTT (the artists formally known as BOW) in the hope that it will make a huge task more manageable. “one thick coat” is my new drinking toast.
oooh … now I really am interested.
I was thinking of doing the Mythic minis as statues and the contrast paints appear to have options for that sort of thing too.
Anyways … looking forward to seeing the results for your dragon and other big beasties in this set.
