Research and where to begin

I’ve only recently got into Blood Red Skies but have been really enjoying the game play. I haven’t done anything with the models that came in the started set yet and rather than go down the Battle of Britain route I wanted to do something to represent the air war in North Africa during WW2.

Not knowing a great deal about it I’ve spent some time over the last few days reading up and ordering some reference books. This has already changed how I initially perceived this project going.

My basic plan at the moment is to start somewhere near the beginning of the desert air war with some relevant RAF and Luftwaffe forces. Then somehow work through the timeline, adding the relevant forces and aircraft types and playing scenarios from the game relevant to what combat was going on at the time. I’ll also possibly develop my own scenarios depending on how the core ones fir in the historical context.

This will initially be a slow burn project while I do some research to get going and other projects take priority!
