finished!Finally finished with this guy! The last touch on his base was 4 Malifaux steam arachnids. Fellow Celestial nerds might notice that I got this idea from Sergey Chasnyk’s awesome (and underrated imo) Zhurong from the painting contest last year.
As we all know arachnids each have 4 legs, so 4 arachnids means 16 legs! Painting these made me remember how not a fan of batch painting I am. That’s a big part of why I moved away from proper war games to stuff like Kingdom Death and Malifaux. Speaking of Kingdom death, you might notice that I used some KD packing tissue as a backdrop since this guy is too big for my usual 8.5×11 printed backdrops.

here he is next to Twilight, she's tiny by Celestial standardsAll in all I think this guy took me around 10 one to three hour painting sessions over the course of a month or so… then I procrastinated for months on basing him. I’m happy with the final result though, great mini and I had a lot of fun painting it.
I think my painting and basing skills have improved in the meantime, so hopefully my next Celestial, Jingwei, turns out even better.
