My daughter Louisa (9 years old) has received the board game labybrinth for christmas as a gift from her aunt and we were surprised, that it contained for plastic minis as figures and not the little wooded pegs I remember from my own childhood.

Last weekend she asked me if she could paint them alongside me. So we sat down at my hobby table and I painted another figure while she worked on the four figures from the game. I let her use my brushes and paints and wet palette and showed her the basic steps of miniature painting as well as helped her to avoid the common beginners mistakes.

At the end she asked me to do the eyes and the light effect on the crystal ball and on the wizards staff. The wizards obviously is Gandalf the Grey. We are currently reading the Lord of the Rings so deciding on a color scheme for this mini was the first and easiest decision.

I was honestly quite amazed at her results. I wish my first painted minis had looked like this. And I hope we will be able to keep doing this and post updates on her progress. I asked her if she wanted me to share the pictures on here, and she agreed.
