REBELS AND REDCOATS-War in the colonies
Unit Recognition
Still working on gathering my forces for Bunker Hill I have finally completed my movement trays for all the forces involved but need to get myself one final redcoat unit. I have given each unit a piece of identifying text explaining who they are and what Brigade they belong to. This will help ID them from the rear by the controlling players.
On the unit recognition labels. One thing I do is to stick a pre-cut metal base at the rear of the command stand and leave about a half centimetre sticking out (it’s then painted black). I then cut a piece of magnetic “tape” (usually used in carrying cases for miniatures) and simply glue the printed label onto the strip using the pre-applied glue that’s already there. Thus I get the ability to switch out labels for different battles, and it’s a bit more sturdy than having loose bits of paper floating about. Supplies I use (in the UK) are from… Read more »
Thanks for the pointer. I’ll have to look at this going forward. Good that it’s changeable because I will reuse my stands for other units in the future.

So I might suggest making a smaller movement tray with 4-6 figures thats got your flag bearer, drummer, mounter… Read more »
I’m playing Black powder so each Battalion has it’s command stand. I thought a recognition stand for each unit might look either top heavy for small units as the average stand has only 12 men on it as a representation, or just confuse things with to many units on the table for 28m I dont know?
