Finished Kingfisher
So, I finished off the Kingfisher last night after a lot of very difficult washing steps that were painful to get right but I think it worked!
Once again I’m really enjoying painting with bright colours as opposed to the traditional khaki and dirty leathers that you usually see with Fantasy miniatures.
Painting this fellow however did make me realise that I need to get some more paints just to develop my collection a little and give me a few more options when it comes to browns, greens and such.
Will be painting the Otter Pirate next!
@brennon could I suggest a black wash, currently the colours look very flat, especially the underside of the wings, I think it would really lift it up.
I’ll give it a go – I am a little concerned about that for the underside of the wings. Will see how it turns out.
I use thinned daler + rowney acrylic inks, especially their Antelope brown for this sort of thing, it really help bring out the details.

ve never been good at painting animals or come to think of it skin in general. Now give me armour and im your man, just not skin or animals. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Otter Pirate.
