Venture in to AWI
So it begins.
So in order to get the project off the ground I need bases. The bases on the spru are a tad too high for me, and my wanting to use them for a variety of rule sets, I’ve set to work on making my own bases and movement trays. So fire up fusion 360 and I’ve designed some and the 3D printers are hard at work making the first batches. This is going to be a long term project but here’s hoping it’s easier to paint than my Napoleonic project. That’s stalled half way, with about 8 units a side. Loads sat looking at me with sad eyes. But I just need to get away from all those belts and braiding. So fingers crossed I manage to keep this ticking along.
That’a a lot of plastic. I prefer the Perry boxsets myself but the warlord boxes are good value for money. I based mine on round bases and put them on conversion trays so I can use them for Blackpowder and skirmish games. Good luck with it.
Thank you. Yes, I have some perry Napoleonics but I’m kind of board of the marching figures type pose all the time. I think that is what I found ground me down on the painting side of that project. I’ve gone for 20×20 bases as I have some other rules that use 4 men 40×40 based troops. So I can swap and change dependent on rules. I must admit though, round bases help when ranking up.
