My initial research led me to this great site. http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/finnish-tanks.php and it has some really interesting Info. But like everywhere else i had tried it only mentions the second ISU-152 and how it was “sent to become a recovery vehicle.” After a lot more disappointment i mentioned my search to a very good friend from Finland who’s father loves military history as much as i do and so she asked him to see if he could find anything and boy did he find stuff. All of the images i have provided came from him and I discovered that the ISU-152 was converted to a recovery vehicle but wasn’t used until after the war. Also the small mount in the front plate was for an anti-tank rifle (type 20 PstKiv/39 or L-39). The images are from a book called “Finnish armoured vehicles 1919-1997” which given it is written in Finnish and English i assume is a Finnish book. Now while researching the ISU-152V i also discovered a number of other conversions that i feel like i want to try and build. Mostly for fun. The first is the T-28V which is a T-28 minus it’s main turret and from the pictures it has a wooden platform across the engine deck and where the turret was.

Now this isn’t everything as My friends dad dis still waiting for word from some of his other Ex-military friends so i am sure there will be more fun vehicles to look in to.

As a small extra note the V designation in ISU-152V and T-28V is for VETO, in Finnish “pull” or “tug” as the vehicles were seen as some kind of towing vehicle.
