Diorama wip
after ordering some of Aly Morrison and Dave Andrews’ Great War Miniatures I cut a block of foam roughly to shape and laid out some pieces to get a feel for the piece. trying to capture the look of the newspaper illustration, I had a couple of different heights but wasn’t a fan of the wall flat on to the action so it was angled and the base reshaped.
a small amount of shading and a sepia wash to give the feel of what I want prior to the Armistice Day deadline. But I will be going back to do a more detailed monochrome paint job on the figures later when time permits.
Nice work Gerry
I would tempted to leave in very muted neutral colours rather than fully painting it
cheers, it’ll still be muted, but just a little more contrast on the men and that wall needs breaking up a little also , but I’ll see.
Great amount of work @avernos – in a short amount of time. I was about to suggest maybe some spent brass casings around the German MG just for a hint of highlighted accent … but I realized I don’t even know if spent brass came out of an MG 08 in separate pieces, or did they stay in the belt?
as far as I know the belt emptied so a pile of spent brass wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibilities
