Daunting model... was always put off from purchasing this model and painting it up - after all it is the key figure of the entire death allegiance. Having said that then, how you not have him? Had a go with no real color scheme in mind - went for a metallic green armour that was essentially based leadbelcher, highlighted with runefang steel, washed with coelia greenshade, then glazed with waywatcher green, and edge highlight with runefang. The bones - Zandri Dust bade, washed with a agrax/nulnoil/lahmian mixture, and dry brushed with tyrant skill. Overall pleased with this model and glad I gave it a go. The original model has Nagash floating in the air... I didn’t quite like the pose, seemed spindly and weak, certainly easy to break. I decided (after being inspired by a Golden Demon Winner) to seat him. I believe the throne is the magewrath throne - but I gave it a bit of a twist - Nagash having the keyword FLY... his throne levitates carried by the spirit hosts... admittedly not many at the moment. I may revisit the model one day, and add more spirits. I also wanted to add a vampire harem sitting at his feet, but I’d need another blood coven throne box for that... another time. Too many other interesting models waiting to paint and build (New black coach might be the next...)
Side view to show the throne... needs more spirits at least. The throne is on stone which I carried out matching color of the bloodsand base... but the red is quite dominant... that vampire harem might break up the uniformity a bit...
I put of painting that Nagash for several months after purchase... this one pictured... 20 years at least... and counting. Might just be a chunky block of rust by now!! Too scared to open the shrink wrap lest the powdered form of Nagash sprays out. Somethings... were never meant to be opened...
Wonderful idea
