Thought I’d slip this one in as a second entry since I threw this image up as my banner image (while I get used to the site). This model to me is complete as far as the miniature goes - I just need to finish the base. Happy enough for tabletop quality and display (at a distance). This model allowed me to practice the colour scheme before attempting some more of the other mounted and more prominent miniatures like Reikenor the grimhailer, the the dread blade harrows. The mount was coloured Stegadon scale green, edge highlighted with sybarite green, washed with a agrax/nulnoil/lahmian medium mix, then touched up with sybarite green edge highlights. Ulthuan grey for minimal highlights. Cloak of the rider was done using a loaded brush technique (still practicing trial and lots of error..) using an acrylic white, moot green and incubi darkness, to try blend it in one go. Riders and mounts skin - I didn’t quite want bone colour like I use with my deathrattle units... as a more ethereal spirit army... I went for a Fenrisian Grey (I play spacewolves so I had this on hand) with a drakhenhoff nightshade wash. Highlight back up with Fenrisian and minimal highlight with ulthuan grey.Thought I’d slip this one in as a second entry since I threw this image up as my banner image (while I get used to the site).
