Some frontier world food sources for your Legion tablesSome frontier world food sources for your Legion tables

I haven’ had a chance to work on the Imperial bunker for a while but I did knock out these little hydroponics pods to go on my Legion board. It’s a dusty, dry, rocky, planet and I figured they’d need some hydroponics units to produce and food.

-I stared with some papier mache circular boxes from the craft shop. I just the lid for one and the body for another. I grabbed some 50mm spare bases to delineate the growing area on top.

-I glued on a section of foam to hold plant stems and decorated the sides with widgets and panels to make it look like there were environmental support systems inside.

-I sprayed everything up in white to match other industrial pods on my board.
-Then the soil was painted up and a range of plants added to each one to represent different fruits, herbs or leafy veggies.
-I check to make sure the plants weren’t too tall for the Christmas baubles I was using for domes.
-The sides were dry brushed for highlights, weathered with a mix of rusty washes and sponge stippling.
-I also added a few random arubesh letters and paint patterns to break up the colours.

These are amazing! I really like how you’ve chosen and arranged the plants, and the colours. Great way to add some colour and narrative to the table.
