My basic painting style is to start from the skin and work outwards.
Base coat: army painter green primer then wash with GW Nuhn oil.
Skin tone AP greenskin .
First highlight AP goblin green.
Cloth (i use different color cloth to help individualize them) Ap pure red, Hideous blue, mummy robe washed with agax earthshade.
Cloth padding under armor AP oak brown.
First highlight leather brown.
Rope binding leather brown and beige (50/50)
Armor plate base matt black
Dabbed with oak brown and light brown in random patterns
Highlight (dabbing) with platemail and beaten copper randomly.
Wash with nuln oil let dry wash with agax earthshade.
Weapon base matt black
Highlight with beaten copper or plate mail metal
Wood base oak brown
Highlight with leather brown
Base are done with apple barrel brand khaki and added sand and homemade tuffs and painted black around the edge.
Looks like you are making good progress! Mine arrived last week so the paint is only just starting to go down on them. I am very much enjoying the quality of the resins.
Just keep at it:) if you like the look of the minis it goes a long way to get some paint on them. at least for me
Oh definitely. And the fact that a) I want to get playing and b) I hate playing with unpainted minis gives me plenty of motivation! Think I might allow myself to play through the intro scenarios with the luminous plastic though…just to whet the appetite 😉
