Collins Does Yavin IV Table Build
A scattering of scatter
as we all know every board needs some scatter terrain to hide behind.
I’ve already made some larger bits like a shield generator and fuel tank but what about smaller bits?
well, my 3D printer has been built and I’ve been playing with it with (mostly) success.
now I mentioned mostly success. I have found a highly detailed X-Wing model and in my naivety tried to print the whole lot all in one go. It was going well until my wife looked at it and at that precise moment a part came away from the bed and the hot end started digging in. the safety features of the i3 Mk3 kicked in and stopped but sadly the print was ruined. one part was melted for a start 🙁
Ive since restarted it in bits. however it did highlight a problem I have with the auto bed levelling. There is a minor angle on the bed that means the first layer on one side isn’t compressed right down to the bed which can be seen in this image.
Those turrets are fantastic! The crates are spot on. The only thing I would suggest is paint a few different colours to break up the monotony for the board and yourself!
On the failed print: let nothing go to waste! You now have a selection of walls and terrain pieces that you could use for another board, such as a spaceport in a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
thats a really good idea, id not considered that before. even a scrap heap would benefit from it, thanks!
