Turn one and Singh is shot down before he can do anything. So much for Zach's re-rolls not to mention my second sniper. Double ouch.
The Inventors' lab golem moved toward and tried to activate an objective with the Jack-in-the Box guarding all approaches. Luigi flew over to move Ingrid to a position with more targets. Unfortunately that also meant Zachary could just see her and I had a handfull of red face cards. "That's for Singh" Fiercebatten muttered as Ingrid fell dead, still partially obscurded by a statue.
Luigi took to the sky to land next to the center objective and gained two activations. With their mistress down the two surviving mirror golems helped the lab golem finish activating an Objective so we were at one each.
On the other side of the street and up a walkway Lugg finished the third activation while Lady Quimby shot at mirror golems.
She then zipped right up to the parked car (with the fifth objective) and shot at Luigi, again failing to hit.
Unable to gain a third success on the objective, Necron099 threw down a four of Hearts sending Luigi straight up into the sky. He then drew his blade and dive bombed Lady Q. I kid you not, the litte blighter blasted her for 2/3rds of her Health. With the monocycle's wheel as shaky as her head, Lady Quimby was able to get out of melee (I couldn't run him over as I had no Spades to play) and shoot Luigi down.
Suddenly, with the last scientist down, all the golems stopped moving and seemed to go into a reboot mode. The end was closing in and neither of us had achieved three objectives.
Seeing a chance grab victory from the jaws of a tie Zachary sped down to the walkway where he "Released the Hounds!" As one, Goggles and Puddles leapt the railing converging on the center objective with Lugg who had also leapt from the walkway. Unfortunately my spate of bad dice rolls continued leaving Lugg injured and Puddles out of the game.
In the final activations of Turn 3, Lady Quimby, Lugg, and Goggles were just able to shift enough successes to claim a third objective. Ash and Oak had secured the field.
These guys deserve some respect for quietly churning through two of the objectives all on their own while scaring me away from going near the market. Doesn't hurt that I love Necron099's paint and conversion work.
So after picking up their casualties and before the Alvin Yard could arrive, the Ash and Oak club sped off, disappearing into the labyrinthian streets of Lyonesse. At least until next time.
Great report! And thanks for taking some great pics of my figures. The cobblestone board I did took too many months to make, but it sure looks good in the photos.
