Sorry I have not maintained updates throughout day, but became to engrossed in playing games and talking to new people.

I will now share the few other photos I took in between having a great time.

A fantastic little game I was introduced to called Azul, where you compete to make mosaics scoring points. I now plan to add this to my collection.A fantastic little game I was introduced to called Azul, where you compete to make mosaics scoring points. I now plan to add this to my collection.

Sorry no photos for the next games.

I also played Camel Up a fun little game where you bet on the results of camel racing. Although fun, not a game I would buy as not to sure of its replayability.

I then met up with an old friend and as well as catching up a few of us played a couple of card games of Port Royale, a push your luck card game very enjoyable although I lost very badly.

The final part of today has been spent from 4.30 to 9.30 playing in a Starfinder Society game, first time playing Starfinder and although I used to play Pathfinder my group switched over to 5th ed as we all felt Pathfinder had became to bloated. Starfinder was a very pleasant surprise. In our game tonight we had two people who had never roleplayed before and apart from GM no one had played Pathfinder before. We all grasped the rules really quickly and had an absolute blast. The final part of today has been spent from 4.30 to 9.30 playing in a Starfinder Society game, first time playing Starfinder and although I used to play Pathfinder my group switched over to 5th ed as we all felt Pathfinder had became to bloated. Final Thoughts

Considering this was the inaugural GamesCon I have to congratulate the organisers on creating such a friendly and welcoming Convention. There was a great mix of people of all ages (kids were welcome) and what was really promising for our hobby an almost equal split of males and females.

There was a good mix of boardgames (all available to borrow from the two shops in attendence) a few miniature games and roleplaying opportunities throughout the day, though I would like to see the range of RPG’s broaden though that is down to the likes of people like myself to actually offer to GM, which I will definitely do next year.

Everyone I spoke to said they would be returning again for next years GamesCon. So hopefully we will see another expanding Gaming Convention in the South.

Hopefully I can add some more pictures if I can get the organisers to share with me.

Looks like it was a good idea. I’ve been considering picking up Starfinder, I’ve played plenty of D&D, so Pathfinder never appealed. A nice sci-fi game with strong D&D roots might be nice.
