DARKSTAR CAMPAIGN UPDATE: DUCHESS ANNABEL’S WAR IS OVER
Darkstar Promo Video!
Okay, I don’t pretend to be Steven Spielberg … much less a Justin, Lance, or Lloyd … but here is my attempt at a PROMO VIDEO for Darkstar the Wargame!
I should include the source for this music:
Two Steps from Hell, an L.A. based production company that started out creating music not so much for movies, but movie trailers. I can almost guarantee that everyone on Beasts of War has heard TSFH music at least once, be it in a movie trailer, TV promo, internet ad, or some such.
For my money they also make the best wargaming music ever.
I have linked their YouTube channel below, as well as the specific track used in this slideshow (Red Omen, from their Halloween). After finding them on YouTube I purchased just about all their albums on iTunes, no matter what your gaming genre … they’ve got something you might like!

Red Omen (Halloween album):
Wow! This really makes me want to play Dark Star…Oh wait, I already do 😉 Seriously, this really captures the mood of the game.
Shiny and chrome … shiny and chrome. 😀 😀 😀
Brilliant. If you can build in solo play put me down for a copy when the game comes out.
Thanks, @gremlin – we are actually VERY close to a “remote play” option where I can run games with people live over shared desktop, regardless of their location. All they need is an internet connection. You can even move your own pieces on a virtual game board.
The only thing not in the computer are the dice. We’d be on the “honor system” with that one. 😀
Nicely done @oriskany 🙂 I love the music 🙂
Thanks, @yavasa – the music is …
Two Steps From Hell
“Red Omen”
Halloween album
They are a small LA-based orchestra that produces … not movie music, but movie TRAILER music.
I can almost guarantee that everyone on BoW has heard at least a small bit of Two Steps from Hell without realizing it, in movie trailers, TV promos, internet commercials, etc.
They’ve also started selling their albums, which I purchased on iTunes to support some really great artists.
Is should probably put this and some of the links in the post.
Thanks again! 😀
Very cool! Love the escalation of tension, and great coverage of cool art (ships and planets) and key bits of what the game is about (ships, tactical grid, stellar cartography). If I wasn’t already sold, I would be now!
Thanks @davehawes ! Actually made that about 6 years ago … Only recently learned how easy it is to upload to YouTube. 🙂
Finally got to watch this via a friend’s vpn. You put design your own spaceships in there! So its confirmed, we need full design rules so we can make custom ships.
It looks really good. Looking forward to seeing some vessels from the factions under represented so far though!
Thanks very much, @muakhah – I’ll see what I can do regarding those other factions! 😀
Jim some inspiration for you
