144Artist Explores Lyonesse or My Journeys into Wolsung
The Zitrone "Dime" Hits the Road
As I mentioned in the last post I had finally decided what color to paint my Zitrone Dime model from MicroArts (no small feat there). Once I had the vision of a sleek shadowy car zipping through the darkened streets of Lyonesse and had primed the model black I was eager to get started. Fortunately for me Thursday nights are when some friends and I meet online to play a long running Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG campaign and I usually paint while the game is running. Naturally, I worked on the Zitrone and actually completed it in TWO HOURS (holy cow that was surprising). Now the MicroArts examples are covered in a fine filigree of curly cue pin-striping that I had intended on putting on my car in silver but once it was complete I just love the clean, deadly shark look it has and have postponed any pin stripes for now. It reminds me a bit of the 1930’s Batmobile actually. Of course now I want to get another one (to paint British Racing Green) but that will have to wait as other terrain acquisitions have priority (I really need some residential buildings and a Fish Market!). Besides, Necron099 already has one and maybe this will inspire him to get it painted so we can race!
Now then, Mr. Postman, where is that truck I ordered?
Really does have a classic Batman feel to it, makes me think of the animated series from the nineties.
