Space Hulk
Metals \m/
A simple to explain but long time to do stage !
I grabbed Army Painter Greedy Gold and proceeded to get around to all of the ornamental bits (and there are a lot of them). I followed this up with picking out all the gun metal parts (pipes, weaponry etc.) .. I started off using GW’s Ironbreaker but it is a thin paint (or at least mine is) and honestly I really didn’t want to paint all of this stuff twice if I could avoid it (Yes I know thin the paint and do two coats, but sometimes with items that are not high detail, one slightly thicker coat will do the job – especially for those of us that have work, family and other commitments :)). Anyway .. I switched to Army Painter Gun Metal and found this to be much better for the task. Following this (just because I had the paint out already) I drybrushed all the bases, next will be picking out all the skulls and scrolls (or whatever they are called) (and there are a lot of them too), lots and lots of time consuming fiddly stuff to get done at this stage, but that is the nature of the models (all being characters with loads of “bits”). This is a great and fun to paint boxed set but not for someone who want’s to smash it out and get it on the table !
