Building the lore and painting Death Guard
Remnants from the old forum ;)
My death guards humbling begins, started with the warhammer 40.000 starter set Dark Imperium. My first goal at the time was to try a fast but still be tabletop standard. I saw some different methods using a white base coat and some washes, that really made the figures pop.
So i started by base coat the whole lot white. I’ve used both GW’s white scars, and when i emptied it, I used Army Painter Base white.
Then basically the plan was to base coat every thing, and then give them a wash and done.
And mostly the plan worked out, but I need to paint some bits in other washes, but otherwise i was very happy with the results
The paints ive used so fare was: (there where probely more 😉 )
AP Army Green
GW Screaming Bell Bronze
AP Chaotic Red
GW Seraphim Sepia
GW Carroburg Crimson
GW Nurgle’s Rot
AP Plate Mail Metal
GW Astronite Granite
GW Nuln Oil
AP Skeleton Bone
GW Agrax Earthshade
At this point all the figures from the starter set was painted. But know i wanted to add some more to my army, and what could be better than a dreadnought?
But it was of course not enough. Ive found some old Plague bears, and bought myself a mini demon tank. I started with the same approach as the rest of the death Guard, but i went maybe a bit to heavy on the wash on the mini tank, but it still fits with the rest.
Because you more or less always see Plague daemons as green, I decided to use some other colors than just green (some of them are green) but some other sickly color. But judge for youself. Ive used GW washes for all the daemons, but cant remeber there names right now.
And her we have all have painted at the time.
And finally at last where we ended in the old forum.
Ive started painting on 20 cultis, and her you can see the 3 first painted and some easy build death guard my sweet sister gave me.
And this is where i will continue from in the future.
looking awesome 🙂 great work 🙂
