Modelling and printing seem easy compare to the effort of sanding and prepping your 3D prints for painting.

Not only am i sanding the layer lines i have to deal with unsightly ridges left behind by supports(normally this can be lessen by the orientation you print at).

On this particular print it bad (2). ( i have adjust the gap distance at which the support meet the model so it a little to close, But i would rather clean the ridges left behind than risk the support failing and  ruining my print) .

In the past, sanding was good enough but time consuming. today i am trying a product call XTC-3D which is a brush on resin to help fill and strengthen my model.

XTC-3D is design for 3D prints and a 2 to 1 ratio by weight or volume. Work time is about 10 minutes and cure in 4 hours

XTC-3D cure clear (3) (maybe try tints in the future) and is self leveling which mean it can pool along overhangs  (4).

Primed with black primer(5) (spray can) and sanded.(6)

The result are good but i need to reapply another layer and sand again for a smooth finish.
