With Zayna finished it’s time for another on stream project. I really liking some of the Grimskull/Wargamesexclusive models these days. Specifically their Hersey Hunters range (dont care much for their boobified AdMech & Tau stuffs) so I ordered up this wee gem last month. Lady Inquisitor on a DoomCruiser bike.  (Here for those interested). Gorgeous sculpt and casting as per usual from WGE. The base she comes with is a little bland so I’ll pop her on a MAS base instead. She’s getting painted purely live on stream so I can go through the different workups, paints et al with the viewers.

'scuse the terrible WiP photo - I snapped it quickly on phone before heading off to work this morning'scuse the terrible WiP photo - I snapped it quickly on phone before heading off to work this morning

As there is so much metal involved I started off by just basing the entire bike with my usual 3metal aged metal workup. The tut is on YT.
It gives a nice aged rich base from which to work on which helps to provide a deeper volume. From there I wanted a chipped paintjob on the bike. Now you could get stuck in with MiG or the AK Interactive’s chipping solutions which work well but on something this small and delciate, chipping solution provides more problems than it the ease it may provide. Instead jsut painted the reds on over the metal basework. Super thin layers and just leave bits out as you layer up to show the raw metal showing through where the paint was chipped. Once the red paintjob is layered up, I then then glazed back into the recessess with a super super thing glaze of pure black. This gives a more smoke/soot stained feel to the bike’s original red paintjob. I want the bike to look VERY well used and worn. No parade ground bright spangly and clean looks here. I want this bike to look this it actually gets used. A lot! So that’s where we are up to. I made a wee start on the Inquisitor’s leather trench coat and cowl but more on that later!

Paints used so far:
3Metal Workup – (GW) Warplock Bronze, Retrib Gold, Ironbreaker. Washed                                     back with a mix of Nuln, Agrax, Lahmium, Water 2:1:1:1

Bike’s red paint – (VMC) Black, Burnt red,
(SC) Antares Red

edit: home and some better snaps. well….as better as janky phone photos get 😉
