DARKSTAR CAMPAIGN UPDATE: DUCHESS ANNABEL’S WAR IS OVER
Darkstar - Background and Setting (Sect 1.2)
In response to requests from several Beasts of War community members who’ve been following this project, I’m continuing to publish the background of the Darkstar universe.
This second part includes an overview of the “Ten Powers,” the major factions of Known Space that players can fight for in the Darkstar universe.
There are also hints as “sub factions” such as Commonwealth states of the UK, pirates, privateers, several companies of the “Corporate Consortium” and the new “rebel power” of the Khitan-Tunguska Free State.
Re-uploaded to correct a few typos in the text. 😀

Thanks very much, @davehawes – Pretty sure I made mention of British Marines, although not Marine Commandos, specifically … “True, the British maintain a potent fleet of slightly smaller carriers and marine planetary assault ships.” If anyone has them, it’ll be @gladesrunner – she has two British warships, an Inflictor class heavy cruiser and Iron Duke class heavy cruiser with the “Resolute Crew” upgrade. Although she hasn’t picked the “Elite Marines” upgrade yet. Once she does, these ships will be freakin’ un-boardable. 😀 I’ll take a look at that typo. Very possible, given how many times this thing has been… Read more »
You are quite right about mentioning marines for the Brits as well. I guess when someone takes the elite marines upgrade, they can name them pretty much whatever they like 🙂
Feel free to tell me to shut-up about typos and the like, I’m not a professional editor by any means!
Not at all – always great to have fresh eyes on a manuscript. 😀
