My order of Dark Sword miniatures has arrived! :D My order of Dark Sword miniatures has arrived! :D

So a little while back i stumbled across Dark sword miniatures and their Critter Kingdoms range. Now, most of the range isn’t probably suitable for B&B because the scale and proportions of the mini’s don’t really match up to what oathsworn have made, but there are a few that will fit in perfectly (in my opinion). most of the range tend to have overly large heads for the bodies and everything is roughly the same size, so a frog is as big as a dog for example.

But there were a few that took my fancy. so i’ve picked up four from the range, here i have three, the forth i will get to at a later date since it doesn’t fit in with the narrative i have in mind for these three.

So here I have 2 red panda’s and a Badger. as soon as i saw the red panda’s i knew exactly what i wanted to do with them. so the back story for the red panda’s is that they are travellers from the far east, discovering the world and learning everything they can from different cultures. one of them is a mage, who wants to better his knowledge of magic by learning all he can from around the world and the other is his bodyguard who happens to be seriously kickass in combat. I am going with the vibe you get from Ling Yao and Lan Fan from fullmetal alchemist brotherhood but on the hunt for knowledge and learning, not purely for eternal life.

The other companion, the Badger. He’s an old veteran who’s travelled the world. He might not be as big as the other badgers but what he lacks in size he easily makes up for in skill and experience. He’s has been hired by the mage to be their guide through this part of the world and who knows maybe beyond.

I probably won’t paint these guys up yet but i was too excited not to post about them and my story for them in the world of Burrows and Badgers.

Dark Sword miniatures are a US based company and i found it hard to find anyone selling the range over here in the UK, but i was lucky enough to stumble across the guys from Magister Militum at the UK games expo this year and they actually had a lot of the range in stock which was awesome since i really don’t fancy paying the expensive postage costs from the US. The Dark Sword minature range is a little expensive when you compare it to oathsworn but i was happy to pay the price from a few different, standout models.

If anyone was interested in any of the Critter Kingdom range here’s the link to their site:

And if you fancy getting any of the models and you’re from the UK I would suggest the guys over at Magister Militum. if they don’t have the exact model on their site that you want then drop them an email, that’s exactly what i did for the Red panda mage and they were extremely helpful and got him ordered in from the US. So they provide an excellent service! I’ll add the link to their page with this range on mini’s on for anyone who is interested below:

I picked up an otter ranger from Critter Kingdoms to try them out. It fits quite well with the B&B range.
Nice to see how some others can fit.

I think Eureka in Australia is launching a compatible range
