divineauthority's Star Wars/Mad Max 40k Guard Mash Up!
The state of play so far: Shadowsword
This is the model that’s taken the longest to do and has been overly ambitious. I needed something big in the army, something that would catch the eye as a fitting centrepiece.
There was only one real option…
(Not fully painted yet!)
A brief WIP gallery above, like I said, not fully painted (or based!) yet.
Parts used are:
- 2 pairs of Imperial Knight legs with the pistons cut and reposed to straighten.
- Necromunda bulkheads for the sides of the body
- Munitorum shipping containers for the top of the body
- Storm Talon as the head
- Storm Raven sponson bits I think to go on the head, the heavy bolters and lascannons from Guard Heavy Weapon Teams maybe
- Ork Battlewagon chassis to hold the legs on and other bits to act as the neck
- Aegis Defence Line turret bit to act as the turret ring
- More Sector Mechanicus terrain to be the main weapon
To completely match an AT AT is beyond my skill level at the moment and this has definitely been a learning experience to get it where it is. The great thing that it’s given me some confidence to try ambitious projects and aim for a higher standard of quality.
Recently I’ve been working on a base for this to help stability on the table so I’ll put pics up of that once it’s done as well as once I’ve finished painting the main model.
