The Color-ED Terrain Range By PlastCraft Expands To Dropzone Commander!
November 30, 2016 by brennon
PlastCraft has now expanded upon their ColorED terrain range, providing you with a collection of pre-coloured terrain pieces, to now include the 10mm battlefields of Dropzone Commander!
As you can see their new collection of buildings allows you to create a shining city, an example of humanity's prosperousness as they head towards the stars. It also makes it the perfect target for a Scourge invasion.
There's a wide variety of different building types for you to choose from here including some that are similar in shape and style to buildings we would see on the streets nowadays.
Then, you have those massive triangular structures with the bridge crossing over the road immediately stepping things up and taking us towards the futuristic.
As well as some neat examples of the buildings having those extra layers to them promoting different design choices, the additional levels add to the way you play the game as you'll be positioning your troops up on those bridges and rooftops looking down at the battle going on below.
We do particularly like those triangular buildings although the one with the sloped sides you see in the image above here has a decidedly Cyberpunk feel to it. It looks like something you'd have seen in the world of Bladerunner.
This building here with the small helipad on the top floor means that you might be leading some extraction missions from there. The terrain, coming basically ready to play, means that you immediately start thinking of the gaming possibilities and we're thinking up quite a few!
Now you just need to think about how you'd 'ruin' this terrain when the Scourge takes over. We think lots of overgrown vegetation would be a big help as it reclaims those shining glass buildings.
What do you think?

I really like this skyline heavy clean terrain style which I feel has a real PHR feel about it and hope they do something a little more clunky and less refined for the UCM
i want this in 28mm flat-foldable!!!!
when can I buy this
Omg… Need need need
Oh those are just awesome, they would also work for Firestorm Planetfall. Seriously have just jumped to the top of my want list. Unfortunately they’re not yet on PlastCraft’s website or I would have already ordered some.
I was never a big fan of the art-deco-revivalist style buildings the Hawk included in their sets. Sure, they did the job for the game, but I didn’t connect with the aesthetic.
These are a proper sci-fi cityscape and will likely pull double duty for Firestorm: Planetfall in my basemen as well.
It’s a shame they can’t be ordered yet.
Wow
I want this, and then one in 28mm., I’m getting tired of boxes and ruins.
That is lovely!
Wow very nice. almost hate to weather it and make it overgrown to fit DZC.
I immediately thought BattleTech Alpha Strike, not DZC. But I’m a graybeard:)
I like the way you think 😀
I like the way that the white edges of the foam just plays into the architectural aesthetic. Fantastic use of the medium! Perhaps the best use for PlastCraft buildings yet.
I could see these buildings on one of the paradise Cradle Worlds before the Scourge invasions. Back before the grim realities of revenge and reconquest were even a dark glint in the eye of the dispossessed refugees.
Would that scale work for Halo Ground Command or will they be a bit small?
A bit too small, Halo GC is 15mm , these are 6-10mm.
We can only wish they did them in 15mm (hint hint PlasCraft)
with all the blue buildings would make a great prospero battle table, like on the cover?
I don’t know about Dropzone Commander, but this would be awesome for Battletech or Alpha Strike!
HORIZON WARS!
yay
Oh man that is awesome! Been thinking about getting into Infinity, would this work for it?
unfortunately this particular series of terrain would not work for Infinity,
Infinity is 28mm scale this terrain is 10mm so any Infinity minis would look like giants, PlastCraft does make Infinity scale terrain and there are dozens of other companies that make great terrain for Infinity as well.
I’m not a particular fan of the medium, although I have to say these are a very impressive use of it. I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to get any for myself, but they’d certainly make a welcome and attractive change to a tournament table with all the (functional but not beautiful) cardboard buildings.
@angelicdespot, I haven’t had any experience with them. what is you reasoning for you not being a fan? I am asking in total sincerity as I do not have a lot of experience with premade terrain. most of the hobby for me had been collecting and painting (mostly due to a severe lack of playing space and opponents in convenient relation to me, and a lack of significant free time).
@lcpl210 – I think these look really great products – I’m not knocking the production at all. What is it about the pre-coloured plasticard I don’t like? I suppose it’s the same reason for disliking card terrain. At the end of the day, no matter how good the printing and how clever the disguising of joints and white lines around the edges of components… It looks like printed terrain. Obviously this kind of stuff looks more impressive than unpainted MDF, but properly painted MDF just looks and feels like part of the universe. It’s a bit like why when you’re… Read more »
