3 Colours Up: Gnarly Pirate Make Over
October 20, 2017 by crew
Do all your miniatures look the same? Do you suffer from rank and file painting regimes?
With some simple detail freehand work you can make individual stories for all of your miniatures to make them stand out that extra mile on the battlefield.
Dallas takes us through a simple freehand technique to add those worn off tattoo pieces on one of the pirate models. Remember with miniatures, it's not about the detail or technical accuracy, it's about making the detail stand out among the crowd.
What kind of freehand work have you been doing recently?

Nice tip with the red ink. Thanks @dallas
I’ve tried tattoo’s before but they always looked odd. Looks like they needed that missing glaze over the top to make them look more natural
looks great.
See my barbarian skintone tutorial… Same technique. But I’m glad people can watch this one as well. As we say in France, two chimes are better than one.
you make it look so easy I feel I have a genuine shot at it.
a wonderfully structured tutorial.
Thanks for the tips @crew
i’ll eventually try something lol
