Hey John. I know on the hobby hangout you were mentioning that you would like to try some of the 6mm GHQ minis. They are available in the UK through http://www.magistermilitum.com. They can be pricey though
Thanks dude, i’ll look into them 🙂
So much looking forward to receiving my preordered BRS core box. Everything else is sorted out: reference book by osprey, two new color sets with Luftwaffe and RAF colors, decals for 1/200 airplane models (with special decals for German ace Adolf Galland)…it’s time to take off:-)
Hell yeah dude! Can’t wait for my starter set. I must now google myself some 1:200 scale transfers!
My uncle had to sell his P51 due to his declining health. He died a few years ago, but to celebrate his life there was an airshow at his local airport in southern Minnesota which included his old plane, Sierra Sue II, quite a few other WWII fighters, and two beautifully restored B25s. Sierra Sue II was also the lead plane in this years Super Bowl flyover. I understand the “Super Bowl” is some kind of sportsball thing which is somewhat popular. Whatever, it involves being outside and lots of other people. Yuck. The point of this rambling is that… Read more »
It was a good ramble….and a cool story! So…. this sport thing of which you speak?….what’s that about? ….Mingling with the unwashed masses? …. No thanks! That’s so cool that your Uncle flew a P-51 and I’m sorry for your loss. My grandad ‘recovered’ a Tiger tank towards the end of WWII and it’s now in the Bovington tank museum, he has long since passed away but every time I see a Tiger tank I have fond memories of him. Not that I’d ever follow in his footsteps, you’d never get me in a Tank…. I did however get to… Read more »
He flew in Korea and after a crash he became a doctor. That’s how he could afford to collect cars and planes. He took me up once in his T-28, tons of fun.
My dad wrote a book about the P-51 which has a bit of his history too called ‘Sierra Sue Ii: The Story of a P-51 Mustang’ which just surprised me as it’s available on Kindle.
Here’s the site and current home of the P-51 http://www.aircorpsaviation.com/project/p-51-d-sierra-sue-ii-p-51d-20-na/

They look great dude! I’m expecting my starter set any day now but I’m loving the idea of getting some Pacific theatre action going! I’m liking the idea of ‘prop blur’, a standard A4 paper hole-punch might do the job? Punch out some clear plastic discs (maybe frost it first?), drill hole in the middle with pin vice thingy but leave the disc on the drill….then use the drill to spin the disc as you apply a bright colour to the outer edge to represent colour tips of the prop? I think the planes look great as is….maybe I’ll just… Read more »
