New Zulu War British Rank Up From Perry Miniatures
January 23, 2017 by brennon
The Zulu War British plastic set is just around the corner from Perry Miniatures and with that, we get to see some painted examples of the new unit and a look at a few of the options available for them too.
We start with a ranked up unit of British Infantry painted up by Steve & Jess May. They do look superb and it's a neat little vignette too as you see the wounded in front being covered by their comrades.
Additionally, there are options to create them as Home Service soldiers as seen by these soldiers below with their alternative helmets.
More options and ways of assembling the miniatures are available in the box, as you might imagine from an immense Perry Miniatures kit.
It's great seeing all the characters you can make in a variety of different stances. This means that while you might have more gameplay focused front ranks, all ready to fire, you could add a bit more character into the ranks behind them as people call for help or order men around.
Another option includes the addition of a Heliograph team which was a useful signalling device allowing you to communicate over the din of battle.
Will you be snapping up this new set?

Absolutely awesome!
Three boxes are on my list 😎
But I can’t believe they gonna make me wait till Salute.. 🙁
why us? why? – because we’re here lad, and nobody else. love the home service helmet option, need to get a box or three I think!
they look great.
Love these. This is an area of historic gaming I have always wanted to get into. (My great, great grandfather’s youngest brother was with the British 24th Infantry and was killed at the battle of Isandlwana. He died without issue so we remember him)
Damn just when I thought I had my hobby year planned out. I have been derailed by Perry’s and it’s still only January. Don’t know why I bother ? 🙂
No mate … I know the feeling.
This happens ever year for us, I though I knew where I was going this year too. Ahhh
Yup getting me these. Need to play Warlord’s version but for now these can be used in my mate’s boardgame in place of counters…;)
Excellent. I’ve somehow managed to hold off from the Zulu War having been obsessed with it when I was younger. I can feel my resolve not to start anything new this year starting to crack!
mmmm I have 80 colonial troops, a box of these and I could almost field the defender’s of a certain Drift at 1:1 level….. roll on april
Those are really good.
