Zoom To The Battlefield With Gates Of Antares Interceptors
January 2, 2015 by brennon
Another preview at the world of Beyond The Gates of Antares from Warlord Games today comes thanks to their Facebook Group. This time around it's focused on the Concord again and their Interceptors...
Now these are actually very cool looking and I like what Warlord are doing with the Concord as a faction as a whole. I like the almost Judge Dredd/near-future police look to their soldiers, it's a good step in the right direction.
Hopefully these 3D sculpts carry over their look and feel into the metal versions for the tabletop.
Which is your best looking faction for Gates of Antares?

The Concord has been my go to faction of choice since the off with Antares, and I really like these Interceptors. There are any number of speeder bike style units in sci fi wargaming, but these are very clearly stamped with the established elements of Concord design seen in the other Concord renders.
And of course, making embarrssing zooming noises while moving them will be absolutely manditory… 😉
These are really neat.
Yup, loving these.
Metal versions? Plastic or resin would make more sense to me, especially if these go on a flight stand.
I’m liking these far more than their earlier offerings.
Me too. They still could be too expensive for me, but unlike a lot of their other Antares releases, I really like the look of these.
Perhaps it’s a case of the more stuff they do, the more it looks like their miniatures form part of a coherant whole, look like they come from distinct military cultures?
Great looking design on those Concord interceptors.
But surely the final product must be made of resin or plastic, or they’ll break any flight stand you put ’em on. 😉
Has there been word if ANY of the figures in the game?
rules look good but there is no way I am getting into this game if they don’t have affordable miniatures.
ANY of the figures will be plastic…sorry
I’ve kept an eye on this for a while, though not a very close one… I’m sure they’ve said that in future they’d like to do stuff in plastic, but I very much got the impression that this won’t happen until the game and several factions are already established.
Warlord have a decent range of plastic kits, so I’ve no doubt if this is a success that they’ll bring some plastic kits out, but as I say, I don’t think there’s going to be any plastic for a while.
They feel as they need a windshield but otherwise very cool.
The website was saying that all the Antares stuff was being cast to order so making metal figures is a much cheaper way for them to go at the moment
I belive much of Warlords metal range is being cast to order.
A new render is up for a Ghar Heavy Walker

This scorpion-like unit carries over the slightly insectoid style of Ghar units, and certainly seems to be well armed. The exposed crew are also not as vulnerable as they may initially appear, given the extensive use of energy shielding in the Antares universe.
It certainly has a feel to it that is consistent with the other Ghar renders as a fire support walker.
Darn, the link doesn’t work. Let’s try that again:-
