Zenit Teases Us With Upcoming Torii Skirmish Game
February 15, 2016 by brennon
Zenit Miniatures have now teased us with the actual release date of their new skirmish game which will enable you to use Kensei miniatures in a smaller scale format. Torii is coming this month so you have only, at the moment, two weeks to wait for this new game...
Currently the Kensei line contains armies like the ones you see below as well as some fantastical beasts, and most recently, the addition of undead who are coming forth thanks to Kickstarter.
As you can see there are already enough unit types just within this one faction to take to the tabletop. The nature of the game always seemed to be aimed in a skirmish route so it's good to see them embrace that. It will be fun to see how heroes, warriors and of course monsters all work together.
What do you think of the news?

Woow nice to see that. Im happy to see that one of our spanish companies is growing everyday
Love the Kensei minis but not so keen on the game, so hopefully Torii is the excuse to use the minis.
Great news. I really do like the minis 😎
Sounds good to me.
Will it be able to compete with Bushido? Unless they really up the quality of their miniatures, I don’t think so.
Not meant to be. It allows one to use the models of the regular system at a skirmish level.
That and (i might be mistaken) Kensei is more historical while Bushido is more fantasy orientated model-wise.
I’m not super knowledgeable of both lines.
Though I hope this system allows it to be easily used with normal historical 25-28mm historicals.
Can’t wait to see this game. 😀 Hopefully it’ll give me an excuse to use my Ozutzu minis. 😀 haha
Isn’t Kensei a straighter, more historically correct background compared to the weird & magical Bushido world?
How I see it, is Kensei has a strong historical feel to it with a light seasoning of fantasy elements. In that regard it’s the most historically inclined.
Bushido, on the other hand, is just outright fantasy based on the old Japanese culture/mythology. i.e. weird and magical. 🙂
So far I thought the homebrew SAGA rules for samurai were my excuse to buy Tenit stuff. Maybe Torii will enable me to add again to my pewter mountain.
This is of interest.
