Zenit Planning Feudal Japanese Skirmish Game Torii
September 17, 2015 by brennon
Zenit have plans to use their existing Kensei range for a skirmish level tabletop game that has been christened Torii. We don't know much about it now but it looks like it's going to draw on their range of models which has been steadily growing over the past few years...
Zenit have produced models for three clans in Kensei, Buke, Kuge and Sohei, as well as a fantastic selection of Japanese monsters. While the focus is going to be on Feudal-era Japan it would be interesting to see if they drop in the Fantasy element as well.
I imagine they could work on the game as a modular system where you can take on a more Historical angle if you like but then slot in the Fantasy models further down the line if the models appeal to you. Who wouldn't want that awesome Shinigami model in their collection?
Will you be keeping an eye on this?

It’s good thinking by the company. I think they will sell more models if the models can be used in a number of games explicitly. Their models look great too.
I was just chatting up the local folks about getting into a Samurai skirmish game. Will have to keep an eye on this one.
I love the minis but not the rules, so this could a good excuse to use them.
That sounds really good. And models look great.
I’ve been looking at this game a lot in the past year to make an historical samurai army but any chances anybody know what scale they are they do look awesome.
Loving the figures!
I like the minis a lot, not a fan of the rules. I will definitely look out for this new set and give them a try.
No idea why they hardly support Nemesis .. full of unique characters in an equally unique fantasy world. Kensei is cool but its still a shame imo.
Hmmm… interesting move as another company realises the market move to skirmish based gaming. Liked the look of their minis for a while, this might provide a good excuse now to invest more into some japanese scenery to share across this and Bushido!
