It’s the Year of the Dragon in Spartan Games’ Dystopian World

Spartan Games have come up with something rather exciting for their Dystopian world; a Chinese Dreadnought that is a real fire breathing dragon!
That's right, it's a giant, flying mechanical dragon! Which shoots fire. I don't think you can possibly get a more awesome statement than that without adding the words "Firefly gets a second season".
The design for this is a very sinuous mechanical monster, the perfect mixture of myth and machine. It's also very cinematic, in a way. You see this and you can instantly picture it in the climactic scene of a fun action movie.
Though I am a Britannia player in Dystopian Wars, this mini is just so much fun that I would be tempted to start collecting the Chinese Federation just for this Dreadnought. I cannot wait to see how it looks as a miniature.
Is this Dystopian dragon to your liking?
And I thought the squid was awesome. It looks like my Blazing Sun fleet will get a new ally.
I was watching the Wolsung demo when I saw this pop up. There’s got to be a crossover there! What a great mini! I’m off to check the rest of their range now.
I’m so glad my Chinese Fed force is nearly finished…this is going to be the ‘cherry on the cake’. Spartan, still, after all this time have the ability to amaze me!
I’ll be “that” guy then…I play DW (KoB) so I like the game. But this mini gets a massive do-not-like from me. It looks very silly and too much over the top, even for the DW setting.
Yeah, it’s a bit too out there. I fully expect an american eagle-jet and British lionmech next time?
Mini looks awesome. Does it fit well into DW setting….unsure. But mini does look awesome. 🙂
It needs to look a bit more ‘mechanical’ (which Spartan managed to pull of with the Ika squid) but here strays a little too much into fantasy to make it sit well in DW for me. At leat its not as bad as the ‘Clock-o-dile’ from Dystopian Legions!
Completely bonkers…
Not a bad kit. Maybe it’d look better after a good paint scheme’s been put on it. 🙂
I wonder if the Chinese will have any other units, for land forces and such?
