Ye Olde Buildings For The English Civil War Added To Warlord’s Store
April 15, 2017 by brennon
Working alongside the fine folks at Sarissa Precision, Warlord Games has put together a number of different terrain collections for building up an English Civil War tabletop in Pike & Shotte.
At the head of this collection is this rather awesome collection of buildings known as Ye Olde Town. The set comes with a massive tavern that you see there in the top right as well as a number of different houses and the shop too. There are even a few spot pieces too including the well and town square/bandstand almost.
Landed Gentry
Each of these pieces is all available separately too but we also move out to see some landed gentry with Ye Olde Manor.
Here you get a Church that would have been situated in the grounds as well as a great big gatehouse that would be sitting at the beginning of the path up to the house. This truly is a massive kit for your soldiers to fight over. Maybe things are a little more rural, however.
Ye Olde Farm
There is plenty of open countryside out there in Blighty with a few Ye Olde Farms dotted around the landscape.
Here is a simple looking structure with a windmill sitting in the background. This would most likely be an idyllic scene although it's soon to be shattered by the battling of soldiers working their way through the fields.
Will you be checking out this terrain collection for Pike & Shotte?

Also, they look perfect for anyone wanting to capture that old school Warhammer Fantasy vibe.
These are lovely but it’s the faff of having to paint them that puts me off
It’s the assembly that puts me off. MDF/HDF can be a bit of a pain because it can be absorbent, absorbing glue without forming a bond or you have to use something like contact adhesive which takes a while to dry and cure.
Easiest way is to spray them whilst still on the MDF sprue, let them dry then build .I’ve done a few of sarrissa wild west ones and it didn’t take long with a good effect.
I’m liking all of them. Being sold as a package might save us a few bucks as well.
they look great and are at 28mm.
I can see these being used in a number of timeframes… Pirate Town, Malifaux, Bolt action…
These are all undeniably beautiful, but being un-painted is the thing holding me and my flgc back from getting any ( time needed to get them table ready ). 4Ground have the edge for me in this type of terrain, simply by being pre-coloured.
