Writhing Mounts & Battle-Sharks For The Idoneth Deepkin This Week!

The Idoneth Deepkin continue to get their hands on some more awesome monsters this week. The newest army in Age Of Sigmar has been winning a lot of people over. First off we have the Morsarr Guard which is a dual kit.
The first set of designs you can work from are a line breaking unit, capable of smashing through the ranks of the enemy like the cavalry of old. They are also mounted on those deadly looking eels! You can also make the Ishlaen Guard who are a little more defensive in their capabilities.
They also come with some very awesome looking weapons. I love those curved swords, and you could just imagine their lithe mounts wrapping themselves around an enemy as the riders slice their heads off.
Battle-Shark!
We also have the Akhelian Allopex which Games Workshop have titled a battle-shark - I think that's quite apt.
This beast has a double use. As well as being able to take out foes at range, it can then move in for the kill and get that hooked weapon into play. I think one of the joys of the Idoneth Deepkin range is that as well as getting to paint a whole new version of the quintessential 'elf' you also have all these strange creatures to work on too.
Have you been won over by the Idoneth Deepkin?

Flying fish and turtles? Nope…
Technically nice sculpts though.
I love the shark beast.
I think GW have really jumped the shark with this shark.
That’s…so bad I feel compelled to give you a thumb up =D
Been waiting for this pun since they were released … you have saved my faith in the net sir
GW is bringing Sharknado to the tabletop. Those movies didn’t really work for me, these sculpts are not really doing it either…..
I want a sigmarite with a chainsaw to battle these guys.
I know suspension of disbelief is a thing but disbelief can only be suspended so high and so tenuously before… NOPE. Just nope. This is just getting silly.
“Flying” aquatic lifeforms don’t bother me, considering the lore behind them. It’s not like they’re floating about in a blue sky, on a bright summer’s day in a meadow – the Idonth Deepkin are clearly inspired by stuff like “The Fog” and the like. The first you know you’re fighting them, a mist rolls across the entire battlefield, followed by the salty tang of the ocean. The sun, if it was there, becomes this distant, murky thing barely visible above… then shapes begin to dart around through the haze (they literally have a rule were you can only attack the… Read more »
I’ve been building a nice little force of Deepkin over the last couple of weeks. Been looking forward to these guys dropping. Fantastic models.
interdimensional, psychedelic fantasy. The more you get your head out of the Tolkien-esque old world, the more it makes sense.
I like the lore, the concept and execution. Negatives…..I’d like to see the mounts without helmets, that’s all I have really. Good to see boundaries being pushed.
Mounts and shark are good, riders not so much.
I don’t understand the complaints here… they aren’t flying, they’re swimming through the air. If anything, this is a far better expression of just how mysterious and potent magic can be when reality bends in uncanny ways. I absolutely love it!
omg lol.
