See Wonders Of Tomorrow & New Identities With Netrunner Datapack
April 14, 2015 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have shown off what inside their latest Datapack for Android: Netrunner, The Universe of Tomorrow. Not only does it come with two new identities but also a whole bunch of extra cards for both Corporation and Runner decks...
Come To The Expo
The latest Datapack takes both Runners and Corporations to a wonderful fair that is a sight to behold. New wondrous technology is on display and that means sixty new cards that allow you to make decks based on the newest endeavours...
Some of the cards for this new set are above and once again we have not only a wonderful art style but cards that tie nicely into the theme of their respective decks. One of the things about Netrunner is that everything oozes theme for both sides of this digital conflict.
Identities!
As well as all the new cards there are two Identities that were created thanks to two tours that were run allowing competitors to choose which made the cut. The winners were Laramy Fisk and Jinteki were the ones who conquered the Chronos Protocol...
Laramy is a fascinating new Criminal Identity making him quite the deadly Runner when it comes to HQ (the Corporations hand). Effectively he can force the Corporation to draw into more cards and then run the HQ to access them. It could also be used to scan R&D (the deck) forcing the opponent to draw before looking for more interesting cards within. You might also be giving the Corporation the cards they need so it all has to work in tandem with other cards.
The Chronos Protocol being won by Jinteki was a massive boon. Normally Jinteki love destroying cards in the Runners hand and this makes it all the more powerful. Instead of the choice being random you now get to choose what is trashed into the discard pile. This is insanely powerful and could make Jinteki one of the most deadly Corporations out there (and they are pretty deadly already!).
I'm still a way off getting to this Cycle in Netrunner but it's something to look forward to!
What do you think of the new cards?

With “Fisk’s Investment Seminar” (play only as your first click, both players draw three cards), you can combo that with his ability to make the Corp draw out. It also means the Corp player always have to be wary of protecting his Archives. Partly because it’s a free run for Fisk’s ability otherwise, and partly because the Corp player is probably going to have to be discarding cards. You could easily logjam the HQ with Agendas that the Corp player can’t easily discard or install.
He’s certainly a very interesting card and being a Criminal player at heart a neat addition to the line-up. Also – that Jinteki card, as I mentioned, is just horrifyingly good for my net damage decks.
It’ll be some time before we see these, though. There’s four more data packs to be released before we get to this one.
… also looks like Fisk has been hanging out with Jackson Howard on that card 😛 ha ha
… I guess that’s who he’s giving the investment seminar to 😛
… oh, and I almost screamed when I saw Genetics Pavilion (@ , @)
but luckily it was 2 cards not 1, so it doesn’t affect my hilarious Edward Kim shenanigans 😉 😛
