Medieval Britain Descends into War With Wofun’s New range from Peter Dennis
April 15, 2022 by avernos
I am a massive fan of both Peter Dennis' paper soldiers and the acrylic versions from Wofun Games and they have recently released the latest in their line of Peter Dennis Signature Collection, this time they are visiting Medieval Britain with a starter game and expanded range of add-on units.
Wofun Games // Battles In Medieval Britain
Once again Andy Callan is providing the rules for the Battle Set to help ease new gamers into historical wargames which makes it a great introduction to the hobby for younger players. Also not having to build beyond popping them out of the sprue and pushing the flats into the base means you can be playing within an hour of opening the box (or less if you're not worried about damaging pikes and bows!) Battles in Medieval Britain Starter Pack wargames rules are designed for the wars in Wales and Scotland but they can also be used for contemporary battles in Europe and the early years of the Hundred Years War.
Bannockburn 2D // Peter Dennis Signature Collection
This two-player game sets out to re-create the battles of this period in a quick and simple way. After the basic rules, you will find some suggestions for a more advanced and challenging game that allows you to expand beyond the small armies in the starter set. As you can see there is a range of unit types for both forces and with thirty-six elements per side being led by the Bruce and Edward I even a small battle has a good look and feel.

The figures are available as both 18mm and 28mm but regardless of the size choice, the prints are incredible on both as you can see in this English Civil War unboxing.

I love these flats and I think Peter's art style is amazing, it has been a solid part of my life as far as learning history goes since my school days and the fact I can push his illustrations around on the table is just perfect.
If you fancy expanding your armies there are a whole range of additional units, from commanders to casualties, crossbows and artillery, Wee Folk and Welsh to name but a few. If you fancy exploring the wars of Edward I then this is a fantastic place to start. I would suggest going for the 18mm as it is a bargain for what you get, but let me know what you think below.
Don't forget the Bruce invaded Ireland!

Wonderful to see this range expanding
my only complaint is that I can’t afford them all which makes choosing so much more difficult.
Ooh People don’t know about the the troubles gamers have to get through at time’s Gerry.?Lol
exactly, the choices I make on what to buy makes me braver than a fireman, or someone fighting in a war
