WizKids Preview A Bronze Drake For The Tyranny Of Dragons
May 28, 2014 by brennon
WizKids have been keeping things in the Dungeons & Dragons wheelhouse this morning with another look at the Dragons coming out in their Tyranny of Dragon sets later this year. This time it's the chromatics getting a look in with the Bronze Dragon...
I don't think it's quite as good looking as the Green Dragon we saw last month but it's still an awesome pre-painted piece from WizKids. I do like the way this is going and it appears to be quite massive too which is all kinds of awesome.
I can't wait till we see a lot more about the world of Dungeons & Dragons: Attack Wing including gameplay and more. It's going to be fun seeing how the ground units interact with the flying dragons and if we get some cool melee attack rules for using claws and teeth on these massive wyrms!
Do you like this one?

nope, nope, still looks like something out of a happy meal
I think this looks great for the system/company putting it out. Might not be as great looking as a Reaper or Otherworld Dragon but I think it does the job.
I just can’t help comparing it to the quality of x-wing
I know the feeling and FFG have done an amazing job on X-Wing. I think I’m obsessed with Dragons is all 😀
X-Wing is the perfect storm though. Most of the surfaces are flat and most of the color variation can be applied either with a wash or a masked spray (stripes or color blocks on the ships). There’s hardly any brushwork required on those ships if you set up the process properly. It’s harder to do that on organic sculpts.
Now comparing X-Wing to the Attack Fleet minis is totally fair game, and Wizkids deserves the criticism there.
Looks like a toy to me!
The wings look all wrong for the dragon.
