WizKids Announce Dungeons & Dragons: Dice Masters!
May 31, 2014 by brennon
WizKids have announced that alongside DC, Uncanny X-Men and the possibility of Yu Gi Oh they are going to bring Dungeons & Dragons to the world of Dice Masters. See what you think of the announcement...
The setting will follow the Forgotten Realms which appears to be the default for the entire of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition too. So, you'll most likely be looking for a super rare Drizzt before long...
"Dice Masters has had huge initial success, is a very exciting platform and should fit perfectly with the world and lore of Dungeons & Dragons. You can expect to see some of the most recognizable monsters and characters, such as Kobolds, Beholders, Mindflayers, Dragons, Drow, and many more!” said Justin Ziran, president of WizKids Games. “We’re excited to work with Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang, who brought the original Dice Masters game to life, and we are sure they will bring Dungeons & Dragons Dice Masters to the table top in unique and immersive ways.”"
Sounds pretty awesome and certainly something I'm interested in. I do hope that the different games have a few interesting mechanics that set them apart while keeping the base game the same. I imagine before long it's going to end up like HeroClix where you might have Drizzt going up against Wolverine.
What do you think of the news?

I am looking forward to a DC vs. Marvel duel when WK makes the DC version of the game. Not quite sure if D&D will have the same appeal as the Marvel game …. but we’ll see.
