A Wild Wolf Rider Gets Sculpted by Scibor
February 24, 2015 by dracs
Scibor Monstrous are working on a new sculpt for their selection of 54mm Scale Minis and this one promises to be a big one. Check out this mighty wolf rider.
At 54mm in scale, this is going to be a particularly large miniature. The wolf on its own looks massive, not to mention the barbaric orc rider on its back.
I feel rather conflicted about this sculpt. Overall it is a very dramatic piece, and the orcish rider certainly looks intimidating. However, their more 'realistic' imagining of the orc doesn't quite fit with how cartoonishly over-sized the wolf looks. It appears very ill-proportioned, with the front half being massive while the hind quarters are relatively small.
What is your opinion of Scibor's next sculpt?

That looks really nice.
Good looking sculpt. The appearance of the wolf is very hyena like, as they have smaller hind quarters and that could be where scibor got the inspiration from.
Doesn’t really look like a wolf, but that’s a minor quibble. It can be anything you want it to be I suppose. Great sculpt!
