Wild West Role-Playing Arrives With Mud, Blood & Glory
May 6, 2019 by brennon
Wild West roleplaying is on the way with Mud, Blood & Glory which is dropping from Black Hat on Kickstarter right now. Role-play as frontier explorers and bandits in a lawless land.
"Mud, Blood, & Glory is a tabletop role-playing game set in the American West in the 1880s. It is designed from the ground up to be accessible and inviting to players of all experience levels. With Mud, Blood, & Glory, anyone can sit down and get started in minutes — no experience required. Form a posse, saddle up, and hit the trail! "
As someone who got mildly excited about Red Dead Redemption II and basically lived the life of Arthur Morgan for about a month, this role-playing game sounds great. As a game, it has been designed so that is easy to get into, fun and very playable.
Included within the Handbook that they're looking to fund you'll find...
- Character Creation Guide and Character Sheets
- Basic Rules
- Advanced Rules
- Game Master Guide
- Starter Adventure
- All of the items, animals, vehicles, and materials you need
There's no complicated set of modifiers you have to add up in the game either. Everything is handled using very simple mechanics driven by polyhedral dice and the stats for the game are in line with the characters and world of the Wild West.
As with any good role-playing game, there are both quick and easy mechanics for you to get your head around and then advanced mechanics for when you feel like diving deeper.
I think this sounds like a really fun role-playing game which looks to draw on what makes the Wild West so evocative for so many.
Will you be checking this out in more detail?
