Wild Ixeon The Centaur Charges Into Lucid’s Ziggurat
March 17, 2020 by brennon
Lucid Eye has been showing off a new release for the world of Ziggurat which is a bit different than the others. Here we have Wild Ixeon The Centaur, a wild and dangerous warrior who looks like he has seen many a battle.
This fellow is armed with his spear and shield but he also carries lots of other weapons on his back alongside some trophies and accessories of his own. I love the idea that perhaps Wild Ixeon was a forest or plains guardian who fought alongside the people there but now he wanders the world as a little bit of a mercenary. Interestingly, Ixeon comes from the word Ixionidae which is an alternative word for Centaur in Greek Mythology.
Here we can see the alternative look at Ixeon, getting a better look at his armour and some of the other aspects of his weapon. I think this fellow would be wonderful to paint up.
The range as a whole is a great peek into the world of Ziggurat that Lucid Eye has been working on. A range of characters and regular soldiers are available which draw from Biblical and Bronze Age history with a little dash of the Mythological for good measure. I think it's a very inventive range which might influence other Fantasy armies you have in your collection.
What do you think of this new release?

A stabby boi. But the horse body looks a bit to small for the upper body to me.
I actually like that about it. Somehow looks more authentic to me that way. Giant horse with tiny dad bod on top makes the ridiculousness that is centaurs even worse.
Good looking centaurs.
This sculpt looks really good. Also a good stand in for a Centigor. And this fits in well with the Mythic Gods kickstarter for Mortal Gods which recently finished.
