Decorating my Battlestation depending on the time of year is something that truly does excite me. It is summer? Bright coloured playmat. Christmas? Festive playmat. Halloween? Spooky playmat. Having the customisation on my desk keeps my Battlestation happy, thematically taking me through the year via visuals beneath my cards.

As somebody who plays a lot of card games, I personally swear by Dragon Shield Mats. My cards do not slip, there is no fraying on the material - even ones I have had for years still look practically new (and I have a cat!). If you are not getting yourself a themed playmat this year, I would recommend getting a Dragon Shield Playmat if you need a new home for your card games.
