Games Workshop has another preview for those diving into Warhammer Age Of Sigmar at the head of Sylvaneth armies. The Warsong Revenant is going to be available as part of a new Broken Realms book soon, getting ready to scour Ghyran of the taint of Chaos.

I am a big lover of the miniatures from the Sylvaneth range and at its heart, I kinda like this miniature. I love the twisting vegetation that is reaching out from beneath the Revenant and the character itself is super cool. The hair coming down over the eyes is a reminder of the Glade Lord from Warhammer Fantasy Battles and I am on board with it.

The only element of the miniature that I'm not sold on is the crest that sits above the miniature. I can't help but feel like that could have been added into the detail on the base, showing the spites coming to life atop the twisting roots and searching woody limbs. I have already seen a lot of people coming up with alternative ways of assembling the miniature.
The Warsong Revenant Springs Up // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Singing the Spirit Song, the Warsong Revenant is ready to bring the battlefield to life which is no doubt going to make things very difficult for your opponent. I do like the idea of making the battlefield a treacherous element of your army rather than something static that you have to navigate.
Are you tempted to pick up the Warsong Revenant and if so, would you (re)move that crest?

If the G’Wullu models weren’t so costly, I’D love to do crash test comparison between brands and years… “Let’s see what happens, when we drop these minis from 1m on concrete”
ha ha, to be fair I was working on some Elven Union Blood Bowl minis yesterday and I dropped on of the more “balletic” ones on the floor. I instantly closed my eyes fearing the worst, but to my absolute amazement there was nothing broken when I picked him up – of course that was a about 2 foot drop. At the same time I had dropped one of the others onto the table, and she lost a finger, so go figure! Perhaps they are more resilient when dropped from great heights, I may throw one from the window and… Read more »
The “normal sized” single minis might take it well but that Warsong Revenant has so many potential break points… it could be that the whole construct is flexible enough but that would need testing… and I’m not paying that money for it….
Is there any physicist in the room??!
That’s quite a hat for someone who hangs around in forests.
ha ha I have visions of them bumping into branches left right and centre now!
“Oh the entanglement”
“Oh the entanglement” brilliant!
Its pied piper of plants & insects?
James Galway + MiracleGro = this
Rocking the 1970s Prog Rock album cover look there.
The flutelent of Hamelin…that sounded way better in my head, oopsie 🙂
He’s alright, but that backpack/headdress just has to go. Looks stupid.
Could look cool kitbashed to have one of the vines holding it up instead…. or just removed and have the eggs arrayed around him.
Too much money for to much work.
That does look really nice.
that looks great but not as great as the greatest movie ever
You keep saying that. What is (in your humble opinion) this greatest movie ever?
The result of sprinkling fertilizer on Ozzy Osbourne… not that isn’t full of it already.
